That shutter count sounds really low. I can click my camera shutter 300 - 400 times on a good day so for me, that count would represent the equivalent of one busy week of photo sessions for an enthusiastic amateur photog.
Dream Source Studio: Just curious how many shutter actuations you've made with your D7000 so far. The life expectancy of the D7000 shutter is about 150,000. Today I became curious as to how many shots I've fired with my camera. I take a lot of pictures in a year. Within two years I've managed to shoot about 50,000 with the D7000. That means I've got 100,000 to go before I can expect the

Sandy. Advertisement. It’s easy to check how many shots your Nikon D5300 has taken. Just press the info button on the back of the camera. The number of shots will be displayed on the LCD screen. The shutter count is not displayed on the Nikon D5300 in the menu system. As a result, you can find it on the camera when you take pictures.
But . . . is there anyway I can RESET the shutter count? It looks like if I still had the memory cards from before I sent it away I could use the RESET in d7 to maintain the sequence? Otherwise, just reset it to zero. Again, thanks to all. Reset shutter count is like dialing back the mileage on a car odometer. We're not allowed to do that.
